Fuel Your Life, Fuel Your Soul: A Holistic Approach to Optimal Weight and Nutrition

We live in a world saturated with health and diet information, yet obesity and diabetes rates are climbing. Many people are overweight and undernourished, resulting in physical and emotional distress. Research shows that diets do not work in the long-term because many of our eating behaviors are driven by emotions, subconscious beliefs, and habits which must be changed for long term success. In this 6-hour workshop you will:

  • Better understand your own eating behavior challenges.
  • Increase your pleasure in eating, by connecting with your body’s signals and the types and quantities of food you need.
  • Learn scientifically sound and practical guidelines for making optimal food choices.
  • Observe the preparation of easy, enjoyable, nutritionally rich recipes for meals and snacks.
  • Enjoy a delicious lunch.
  • Experience a group hypnosis session designed to excite your subconscious mind to support life-long motivation toward healthy eating and overall well-being.

Using lecture, discussion, cooking demonstrations, and group hypnosis, this workshop will give you the tools you need to reach your weight and nutrition goals. Each participant will receive handouts, recipes, and a hypnosis CD to reinforce the workshop experience. This workshop is perfect for you if you want to end struggles with weight and nutrition and fuel yourself for a life of health, energy, and comfort.

Price is $125 including handouts, CD, and lunch. Pre-registration is required and class size is limited to 15 participants.

University of Michigan Perspectives on Healing Lecture Series

Genetics:  Only the Tip of the Iceberg of Health

Tremendous scientific efforts are being put into identifying genetic links to health conditions with the hope that remedies can then be developed.  However, this “magic bullet” approach does not take into account all that we are learning about environmental factors which determine whether genes are activities or not.  Epigenetics is teaching us that thoughts, stressors, nutrition, environmental exposures, sleep, exercise, and other lifestyle related  factors play a more critical role in health than the genetics based approach would have us believe.  Learn about the power that each one of us has to positively impact our health destiny, regardless of our genes.

Date: Thursday, October 30, 2008, 3:30 pm

Location: 1136 Lane Hall Ann Arbor, MI 48109-1290

Lecture is free and no registration is required. For more information call
